Saba Safa is a distinguished Persian musician and educator, specializing in violin, kamancheh, conducting, and composition. She is the founder and artistic director of the Sogdian Ensemble, creating projects that celebrate Persian musical heritage while fostering artistic excellence and cross-cultural collaboration.

Awarded a full scholarship, Saba earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance from the University of Chichester. As a violinist, ensemble leader, and soloist, she has performed with renowned ensembles, including the Hanover Band, toured the United Kingdom with the Moscow City Ballet, and made her live solo television debut on ITV’s This Morning. She currently works as a guest violinist at the University of Chichester, alongside an active career as a performer, conductor, and educator.

Saba pursued orchestral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, where she trained under the distinguished conductors Sian Edwards and Amy Bebbington. She made her conducting debut at Ely Cathedral, leading the premiere of Dare, a work by Dr. Susannah Self.

In recognition of her artistic achievements, Saba has been endorsed by Arts Council England as a Global Talent. She continues to perform, conduct, compose, and lead artistic projects, with a particular focus on promoting Persian music and fostering cross-cultural collaboration through performance and education.
